does not like to be nailed down. How come? The group, founded by Berlin guitarist André Matov
, has its own idea of sound: pure groove instead of bulky sound-constructions. Experimenting with form and freedom, arrangement and improvisation, the trio defines its sound between grunge rock and groovejazz. Energetic, expressive guitar sounds are combined with the warm sound of the hammond organ.
With his quintet MatovsGarage guitarist André Matov combined the possibilities of modern jazz with the diverse musical culture of the Balkans. Now, he is dealing with the american Grunge bands of the 90s which have had a big influence on his musical development as well. Together with hammond organist Jochen Aldinger
and drummer Bernd Oezsevim
, André Matov is working on his compositions to find a new approach to explore the language of jazz.
