MATOVSGARAЖ

Brass music from the Balkans, the surf sound from California, field recordings from еastern Europe, and microtonal scales from the Middle East. What sounds impossible on paper becomes the most natural thing. In MATOVSGARAЖ music, the five musicians combine regional contradictions into an exhilarating journey with skills, interplay, and a wink. With guitar, organ, drums, wood, and brass, the quintet explores a geography full of contrasts outlined by guitarist and composer André Matov: jazz and Balkan brass, Anadolu rock and Italian Film Music, Turkish scales and Macedonian meters become stations on a wild ride through an imaginary landscape.
